Heartwarming Stories
My 16 year old senior Angelina Jolie was diagnosed with diabetes in April 2025. I noticed her not eating too much, practically living by the water fountain, using her litter box more often and she had weakness in her hind legs. Took her in to see her vet and her glucose was 550! I was stunned. She was overweight and was in early stage kidney disease but otherwise stable. I had very little information about feline diabetes except my vet recommended Lantus insulin. I got a quick tutorial from the vet on giving the insulin injection, a paper to measure glucose at home, told what glucometer to get and that was it. I was alone and terrified. And so here is where we found Adonis and he saved us! With your channel, I learned how to do glucose curves, how to chart and track her numbers and I practiced spa momento on my Angie! In July 2025, she went into remission and remains to this day. We still have a spa momento every other week to check but it's OK. Thank you Adonis for saving my Angie ❤️
Minetje has had kidney disease for a few years now, and I have always read a lot online about treatments and what other people in other parts of the world do. I was getting frustrated that my vet would not do much with my questions. I messaged quite a lot with Adonis cat account, and they made me feel more confident that I needed to find a new vet, and to give other treatments a try. My old vet wanted to put her to sleep, but I can see she still has quality of life and this has improved since her last appointment with the old vet. It’s so important to advocate for your cat, and also to find a treatment that your cat agrees with and works for you. I’m so thankful for your help in this situation. It made me feel less alone and more hopeful. I didn’t want to ‚give up without really trying’ to make her feel better. The goal is to enjoy the time we still have together ❤️.
Our story started a little over a year ago. I remember being so scared of diabetes. I had no idea how to shoot, the true importance of low carb diets, testing before each injection testing every 30 mins when dropping. Your videos really helped in the beginning. We currently go by SLGS I test October before each injection and normally a +3 and test according to the +3. October isn’t regulated yet but we are getting there. Some days are a bit disappointing but there are good days too. I’ve really learned a lot over the year and have helped others and have advocated for feline diabetes. I have even shared my thoughts and opinions with vets. Most vets are so impressed with her spreadsheet most have never seen anything like it. I’ve noticed many vets don’t know a ton about diabetes, having this knowledge is really important and helps others too. I’m thankful for your videos it really helped so much in the beginning with testing and injections I hope it helps many others along the way.
