Heartwarming Stories
Our story with feline diabetes began two months ago. It was a shock; we expected something to happen, but not diabetes. It was completely by accident that I came across Adonis; he's wonderful. His story and the way he handles insulin give us hope that ours will be just as peaceful. Thanks to Adonis and his mom, we found a group for diabetic cats. A group that provides great support and practical help. Thank you, and I hope we succeed 💪💪
Hi, Adonis! I've been following you for a year or so. My cat doesn't have diabetes, but he was diagnosed with Autoinmune Hemolytic Anemia a month ago. He is on a very strict treatment with steroids and some other medication every day multiple times a day. Once we started with his medication I couldn't help but remember you, Adonis, and your parents, and how successful your autoimmune disease is managed by being very methodic and disciplined. I try to do the same with Vito, giving him his medication always on time, being very responsible with how we handle syringes and needles and always rewarding him after a successful dose. I wouldn't wish an autoimmune disease no anyone (pet of human) but having a community and learning how to handle these situations by watching others (such as you, Adonis) has been a huge help and support. We are big fans of Anabelita too. Kisses and hugs from a Chilean-Swiss family
Siso has come ongoing GI issues for a few months and we are doing lots of tests and trial foods and doctor visits, with variable levels of improvement. Adonis gives me hope that even a long term condition can be managed
My kitty has eosinophilic granuloma on her tongue from a food allergy. I thought I was going yo be administering atopica orally for the rest of her life, so I wanted to see how other people handle daily medicating their cats. My kitty actually responded well to switching to hydrolyzed food, so she gets to avoid the medicine... but I was really struggling for a few months. It was helpful to see Adonis, that he was not always perfectly cooperative... as my kitty was extremely uncooperative, and thats what I was having trouble with.
